Scavenger Hunt

Play and Win!

Flora Bank & Trust and the North Clay Banking Center are having a summertime fun scavenger hunt. The reward for completing your tasks is an entry into a drawing for two tickets to a Cardinals double header at Busch Stadium on August 22, 2010. You’ll enjoy watching the Cardinals vs. the Giants followed by the North Clay Cardinals. The scavenger hunt will be played from July 5th through August 13th. The rules of the hunt are outlined below.

RULES
A new clue will be released on our Facebook page every Monday. You will have the week to decipher the clue, locate the Clay County point of interest that is the subject of the clue, and take a picture of the subject of that week. Then, on Friday, post your photo on our Facebook wall to automatically gain one entry into the drawing. Entries will only be accepted on Friday so don’t post your answer too soon or too late. You may post an entry each week thereby having your name in the drawing up to 6 times.

The winner will be announced on Facebook Monday, August 16th.

Clay County Fair Cook Off

The Clay County Fair is looking for the best cooks in Clay County!

On Sunday, July 11th, 2010 between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM, the Clay County Fair Association is sponsoring a Cook Off. There are three categories that you can enter: Hamburger, Chicken, and Open. There is a $25 entry fee for each category you enter. The winner of each category receives $100 and a trophy and the overall winner receives $300 and a trophy.

Free hot dogs and drinks will be served and there will also be a hot dog eating contest and a marshmallow eating contest. “So bring your grill and let’s get cookin!”

Movies in the Park

The Flora Chamber of Commerce summertime event, “Movies in the Park”, continues on Saturday, June 26. This month the Chamber is showing the 1982 classic, “E.T.”. The movie will start at dusk and there will be free popcorn for everyone. Also, soda, water, and light up toys will be for sale.

Everyone is encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs for seating. Children ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

In May 2010 FB&T hosted Older Americans Day at the Flora Golden Circle Nutrition Center. Several employees participated in serving meals to those in attendance. A good time was had by all.

Recently, we received several really good pictures from that day and we wanted to share them with you. They have been added to our Facebook page that can be accessed using the link that is at the top of every page. Enjoy!

Helping Hands Bake Sale at Relay for Life

The Helping Hands Committee of Flora Bank & Trust will be having a bake sale at this years Relay for Life event. They will be selling baked goods, drinks, and curly fries with cheese. All proceeds are donated to the Relay for Life.

If you would like to make a donation to Relay for Life, please put your donation in an envelope labeled “Relay for Life” and drop it off at any of our branch locations.

Shop with a Cop Golf Scramble

@ Richland County Country Club

In 2009 approximately 150 kids were helped to purchase coats, shoes, and every day clothing. This year, on Friday, June 25th, the Shop with a Cop program will be hosting it’s 5th Annual Golf Scramble Fundraiser. The scramble will consist of 4 person teams and includes the golfing, a cart, and lunch. Everyone is welcome, so put together a team and help make 2010 a great year.

Cost: $50 per person (4 person team)
